H.E.Mr. Ts. Munkh-Orgil, MP, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, met the members of the US Congress on June 13, 2017, and exchanged views on the matters of bilateral relations and expanding the parliamentary cooperation.
Minister Ts.Munkh-Orgil emphasized that the parliamentary cooperation has been making an important contribution to the bilateral relations between Mongolia and the United States, and expressed gratitude to the US Congress for issuing resolutions supporting Mongolia.
During the meeting with Congressman Peter Roskam, Chairman of the House Democracy Partnership (HDP), the Minister underlined that the programs, such as the HDP and Open World, have been providing an opportunity to the Members of the State Great Khural (Parliament) of Mongolia to learn and share the experiences of the United States, and expressed appreciation on their behalf.
The Foreign Minister also met Congresswoman Dina Titus and Congressman Don Young and expressed his satisfaction with continued tradition of the establishment of Mongolia Caucus at the US Congress. He noted that the Caucus makes an important contribution to the strengthening of the cooperation between the two legislative bodies.
Minister Ts.Munkh-Orgil expressed his wish to expand the bilateral relations in all fields, specifically in the areas of trade and economic cooperation; and to take concrete actions towards increasing the US investment in Mongolia. The members of the US Congress confirmed their readiness to support these actions.
