The Second meeting of the Joint Steering Committee of the Government of Mongolia and the United Nations (UN) convened on 11 December, 2023, to review the progress of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2023-2027, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia.
At the meeting, the actions taken by the UN in Mongolia were presented in the spheres of human development and well-being, green, inclusive and sustainable growth, and people-centered governance, rule of law, and human rights.
The members of the Joint Steering Committee underscored the need for collaborative endeavors and inclusive participation to ensure the implementation of the “United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2023-2027” in 2024, aligning with the 12 accelerators for SDGs.
The Government of Mongolia and the United Nations signed the Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (2023-2027) on May 20, 2022.
The Joint Steering Committee is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the framework, providing guidance, and making recommendations in line with national development priorities and regional and international development trends. The Committee remains committed to reviewing the progress and setting priorities for the forthcoming year in collaboration with the stakeholders.
