Minister for Foreign Affairs D. Tsogtbaatar received Minister of State for International Cooperation of the Ministry Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Reem bin Ebrahim Al Hashimy on 31st of August, 2018.
While expressing their satisfaction at intensifying bilateral relations and cooperation, the Ministers exchanged views on bilateral relations and multilateral cooperation areas of mutual interest
Minister D.Tsogbaatar highlighted that Mongolia gives importance to our relations with the Gulf States, including United Arab Emirates and noted that there are opportunities to implement mega projects like the Taishir hydropower plant that was constructed with the help of Emirates’ soft loan and expressed an interest in continuing such cooperation.
Minister of State Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy noting that it was her first visit to Mongolia, expressed her appreciation for the warm welcome. She also expressed her readiness to develop bilateral cooperation in the fields of education, agriculture, and health.
Accompanying official delegation of the Minister of State had technical meetings with officials of the Ministries of Education, Culture and Science, Health, and Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry and Development Bank of Mongolia and exchanged views on bilateral cooperation and ongoing projects in details. The delegation also visited school No 14 and the First Central Hospital of Mongolia.
H.E. Mrs. Reem Ebrahim Al Hashimy, concurrently holding the position of the Director General of EXPO-2020, to be held in Dubai, expressed her gratitude that the Mongolian side confirmed to participate in this international event at Prime Minister’s level and expressed her readiness to cooperate.
During her visit the State Minister paid a courtesy call on President Kh. Battulga, and met with Mr. B. Munkhjin, Foreign Policy Advisor to the Prime Minister.
