Mr. Ankhbayar Nyamdorj, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia held meetings with representatives of the international organizations in Geneva at the margin of his working visit to Switzerland.
During the meeting with Ambassador Xiangchen Zhang, Deputy Director General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), both sides exchanged perspectives on the multilateral trading system, addressing pertinent issues within the WTO, and discussed outcomes of the 13th WTO Ministerial Conference convened in Abu Dhabi, UAE in February 2024. Moreover, both sides discussed the unique challenges faced by landlocked developing countries and the possibility of joint research in facilitating the issues and further cooperation with the International Think Tank of LLDCs based in Ulaanbaatar.
Mr. Ankhbayar Nyamdorj, State Secretary and Mrs. Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) addressed current challenges facing in the international humanitarian laws, global situations, natural disasters, the exceptional role and contributions of the national and regional Red Cross societies for implementing the ICRC visions and objectives and potential cooperations between ICRC and the Government of Mongolia.
Mrs. Mirjana Spoljaric Egger extended sympathy on the heavy losses caused by the dzud disaster during the harsh winter in Mongolia and reiterated the enthusiasm for the close collaboration.
