SPORTS COMPETITIONS WERE HELD AMONG MONGOLIANS IN TURKEY

13199410_1010201035683220_899392155_oWithin the framework of the “World Mongolians” program sports competitions were held among Mongolians living in Turkey in the city of Eskişehir on 7-8 May 2016.

Opening speeches were delivered by H.E. Mr. Badamdorj Batkhishig, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Ilhan Köse, Honorary Consul of Mongolia in the city of Eskişehir, Prof. Dr. Hasan Gönen, Rector of Osmangazi University, and Prof. Dr. Naci Gündoğan, Rector of Anadolu University. Honorary Consul Ilhan Köse sponsored the competitions that were held in the sport hall of the Osmangazi University and Mongolians living and studying in Turkish cities such as Ankara, Istanbul and Eskişehir participated in sports competitions including basketball, football and chess.

“Hawks”, a women’s team from Istanbul, as well as a men’s team of the Police Academy from Ankara won the champions’ titles in basketball competition. A joint team of Eskişehir and Bursa cities became the champion in football competition while Mr. B.Bilguun, a student from Eskişehir, won the title of the champion in chess competition.

Ambassador Badamdorj Batkhishig expressed his gratitude to Eskişehir Deputy Governor Mr. Hamdi Bilge Aktaş, Honorary Consul Mr. Ilhan Köse, as well as the rectors of Osmangazi and Anadolu universities for their support in organization of the sports 13211015_1010200049016652_1970180531_ocompetitions. Participants were given “On the trail of Ilkhanate”, a book printed by the Embassy of Mongolia in Ankara.
