The preparatory meeting for the launch of the Northeast Asian Youth Climate Council  and a seminar on “Climate change and Security Challenges in Northeast Asia” was co-organized by the United Nations Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, the United Nations Development Program, the Hanns-Seidel Foundation Mongolia and  the UN Association in Mongolia on 5 June 2024.

About 10 young leaders from the region participated in the seminar, sharing their perspectives on the connection between security and climate change and discussing the challenges they face.

The final document from this seminar will be presented in the third session of the 9th Ulaanbaatar Dialogue International Conference on Northeast Asian Security, scheduled to be held in Ulaanbaatar on 6-7 June 2024.
