The reception in honour of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Canada was held in Ottawa on November 20, 2023.

The guests of honour, H.E. Battsetseg Batmunkh, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, and the Honourable Ahmed Hussen, Minister of International Development of Canada, delivered the semi-centennial anniversary remarks. Minister B.Battsetseg emphasized in her remarks that following the official talks with the Honourable Melanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, the sides agreed to elevate the bilateral relations to the Comprehensive Partnership.

The reception was attended by representatives of the Canadian Parliament, Government, diplomatic missions in Ottawa, as well as representatives of the private sector and Mongolian community in Canada. The first resident Ambassador of Canada to Mongolia Dr. Anna Biolik, former Ambassadors of Canada to Mongolia Mr. Gregory Goldhawk and Ms. Catherine Ivkoff were also present.

Mongolian and Canadian individuals who contributed to the promotion of Mongolia-Canada relations were awarded state recognitions, as well as Mongolian traditional and classical music artists presented their performance.
