Within the margins of his official visit to the United States, H.E. Mr. U. Khurelsukh, the Prime Minister of Mongolia, met with Mr. Brock Bierman, the MCC Acting Chief Executive Officer, and attended the introduction of the project to increase the bulk water supply of the City of Ulaanbaatar. The event took place in view of the Second Compact Agreement signed between the Government of Mongolia and the United States MCC.
The two sides underlined the $350 Million Second Compact Agreement and mutually committed to successfully implement the project.
Prime Minister U. Khurelsukh emphasized that the Second Compact Agreement will play an important role addressing one of the most challenging issues of Ulaanbaatar – increasing of bulk water supply, and as a result improving the livelihood of the Mongolian people, providing an economic growth and sustainability of the environment and ecology. Prime Minister has expressed sincere appreciation to the Government of the United States.
Mr. Bierman underlined that this Compact Agreement is important in providing the long-term economic growth to Mongolia and reducing poverty. It is also a symbol of the cooperation and partnership; and support toward Mongolia’s demonstrated commitment to strengthening good governance, economic freedom, and investment in its people.
