H.E. Mr. U. Khurelsukh, the Prime Minister of Mongolia, who is paying an official visit to the United States, met the US Senator Dan Sullivan and exchanged views on the matters of bilateral relations between Mongolia and the U.S. Prime Minister noted that he is delighted to meet with the Senator, and expressed his satisfaction with an ongoing successful visit to the U.S.

Prime Minister U. Khurelsukh highlighted that after his meeting with Vice President Pence, the bilateral relationship was upgraded and reached the level of the Expanded Comprehensive Partnership, and informed that the two sides agreed to implement the “Roadmap for expanded economic partnership between Mongolia and the United States of America”. He also underlined the MCC’s $350 Million assistance, which will be dedicated to the project to address one of the most challenging issues of Ulaanbaatar – increasing of bulk water supply; and emphasized on the social and economic importance of the project.

Senator Sullivan expressed his gladness that the friendly relations between Mongolia and the U.S. are strengthening within the mutually trusted atmosphere. He has underlined and conveyed his appreciation to the Mongolian and American peacekeepers jointly serve in Afghanistan, who are contributing to the regional, as well as global stability. Senator informed of his readiness to support the “Mongolia Third Neighbor Trade Act” bill, aimed at promoting a duty-free treatment of the Mongolian cashmere and textile products to the U.S. market.

He also thanked the people and the Government of Mongolia for providing a sincere assistance to the people, affected by the hurricane Florence that hit the states of North and South Carolina, and Virginia.

The two sides welcomed the deepening of the people-to-people ties between two nations while noting the importance of supporting them, and specifically, highlighted the great contribution of the American volunteers.
