UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres announced the release of 60 million U.S. dollars from the Central Emergency Response Fund for humanitarian assistance in Ukraine.
According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, 18 million people are projected to become affected and 12 million people are expected to need humanitarian assistance in the country. As of 24 March, 41.1 per cent of the humanitarian response plan, that requires in total 1.139 billion U.S. dollars, has been funded.
In this regard, the Government of Mongolia has announced today that it will provide a humanitarian assistance of 200,000 U.S. dollars to Ukrainian refugees. Out of which, 150,000 U.S. dollars will be provided directly through the UN Central Emergency Response Fund and 50,000 through the ICRC.
