PRESIDENT U.KHURELSUKH RECEIVES CHAIRMAN OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF LAOS

President of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh, who is on a State Visit to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, received the President of the National Assembly of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic Xaysomphone Phomvihane on November 6, 2023.

President U.Khurelsukh noted that Mongolia and Laos have developed relations and cooperation between the two countries based on the principle of mutual support and mutually beneficial cooperation despite geographical distance.

The Mongolian President also highlighted that the relations between the two countries, including cooperation between the highest legislative bodies, have actively developed over the past 60 years. President U.Khurelsukh emphasized the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation in fostering traditional friendly relations between the two countries and strengthening the legal environment.

President U.Khurelsukh pointed out that President of the National Assembly Xaysomphone Phomvihane’s Official Visit to Mongolia in September 2023 made a valuable contribution to bolstering cooperation between the highest legislative bodies of the two countries and expanding cooperation between the Parliamentary Friendship Groups and the Offices of the Presidents of Mongolia and Laos.

President of the National Assembly Xaysomphone Phomvihane stressed that the state and government of Laos attach great importance to President Khurelsukh’s State Visit to the Lao PDR. Mr. Xaysomphone Phomvihane expressed his satisfaction with the meeting with President U.Khurelsukh in Vientiane shortly after their meeting in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, during his Official Visit.

Both sides acknowledged that the official talks between the two Heads of State were effective and successful. They agreed to enrich cooperation with economic content and advance collaboration in transport logistics, agriculture, education, health, and tourism.

Additionally, the two parties emphasized the signing of several cooperation documents to strengthen the legal basis between the two countries and affirmed a commitment to close cooperation in strengthening the legal environment of relations between the two countries and expanding inter-parliamentary cooperation.
