The President of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh held a meeting with the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva as part of his State visit to Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, President U.Khurelsukh underlined that the official talks between the two Heads of State were held productively in a warm and constructive atmosphere.

The President expressed his commitment to intensify and broaden the bilateral relations and cooperation across all sectors between Mongolia and Uzbekistan, which share common values such as nomadic culture, history, customs and tradition.

He also expressed his confidence that close cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries will play a pivotal role and make a weighty contribution to the expansion of ties.

The Chairperson T.Narbayeva emphasized the Government and the Parliament of Uzbekistan attach great importance to the State visit of the President of Mongolia and expressed her commitment to providing all possible support in expanding and strengthening cooperation between the Parliaments of the two countries.

Both sides pledged their commitment to further strengthen the favorable legal environment for relations between the two countries, work closely together in implementing reciprocal visits as well as exchanging experiences.

President U.Khurelsukh signed the Honorary Guest Book of the Oliy Majlis and left commemorative remarks.

The Oliy Majlis, Parliament of the Republic of Uzbekistan, consists of two chambers including the upper chamber known as the Senate with 65 members, and the lower chamber the Legislative Chamber with 150 members. Citizens of Uzbekistan of age of 25 and above have the right to be elected as a member of either chamber. The term of office is 5 years.
