H.E. Mr. Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj, President of Mongolia, will pay an official visit to the Republic of Cuba on 15-18 September 2016 upon the invitation of H.E. Mr. Raúl Castro, the President of the Council of State and Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cuba.
During the visit, H.E. Mr. Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj, President of Mongolia, and H.E. Mr. Raúl Castro, President of the Council of State and Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, will have official meeting and exchange views on the matters of bilateral cooperation as well as issues of regional and multilateral agenda.
Furthermore, the President will visit the University of Havana and give lecture on Mongolian history, culture as well as social and economic development. Afterwards, he will meet the representatives of Mongolian student community in Cuba.
The Republic of Cuba is the first South American country that established diplomatic relations with Mongolia, and since, it has been a bridge towards developing relations with the continent.
Last high-level bilateral visits were observed in 1984 from the Mongolian side, and in 1970 from Cuban side.
The visit will play an important role in strengthening the friendly relations and cooperation between Mongolia and the Republic of Cuba.
