On November 7, 2023, President U.Khurelsukh of Mongolia, who is on a State Visit to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, met with Mongolian students studying in Laos at the Embassy of Mongolia to the Lao PDR.
Upon his arrival at the Embassy, President U.Khurelsukh was welcomed by J.Byambasuren, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Lao PDR, who briefly introduced the operations and activities of the Embassy.
Currently, twenty Mongolian students are pursuing their studies at Lao universities, with six of them being recipients of the ‘President’s Scholar – 2100’ scholarship program initiated by the President of Mongolia.
During the meeting, President U.Khurelsukh emphasized the urgent need for skilled professionals proficient in Laotian to foster and expand Mongolia-Laos relations and cooperation. He also stressed that the State Visit marks a new chapter in bilateral ties for the next six decades, expressing confidence that Mongolian graduates from Lao PDR universities will play a pivotal role in shaping bilateral cooperation over the next 60 years.
The President U.Khurelsukh encouraged the students to be friendly and to study diligently, wishing them success.
