On 22 June 2021, political consultation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic was held via videoconference. Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Munkhjin Batsumber and Undersecretary of the Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Manlio De Stefano led the Mongolian and Italian sides, respectively.

During the meeting, two sides had extended talks on bilateral political relations and exchanged views on other areas of mutual interest, including cooperation within the regional and international fora.
