On 4 October, 2016 H.E. Mr. Sukhbold Sukhee, Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations delivered a statement at the General Debate of the Second Committee of the 71st Session of the UNGA.
While emphasizing Mongolia’s commitment to the implementation of the relevant goals set forth in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Permanent Representative S.Sukhbold stressed that the 2030 Agenda was reflected in national development strategies, including the Sustainable Development Vision of Mongolia 2030 and the Government’s Action Program for 2016-2020.
Furthermore, he outlined some key areas that were significant to the Mongolian delegation, including the special needs and challenges of Landlocked Developing Countries, climate change and human settlement.
During this session, the Second Committee will deal with important issues relating to economic growth, international trade, international financial system, external debt sustainability, financing for development, sustainable development, poverty eradication, globalization, agriculture, food security, nutrition and information and communication technologies for development.
