Members of the Parliament, headed by D.Terbishdagva, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Economy and Chairman of the Mongolian-German Parliamentary Group, paid an official visit to Germany on the invitation by the German Bundestag from 8th until 10th of March, 2017. D.Bat-Erdene, Minister for Defense, as well as Gantulga D., Vice-chairman of the parliamentary group, Tsogtbaatar D., Undarmaa B. and Murat D. took part in the official visit. Ambassador of Mongolia to Germany, Tsolmon Bolor, accompanied the delegation.
Parliament members held talks with German Bundestag representatives including Mrs.Michaela Noll, Vice President of the Bundestag, Mr.Wolfgang Hellmich, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Defense and Mr. Manfred Grund, Chairman of the German-Central Asian Parliamentary Group. The delegation also met with members of the Standing Committee on Foreign Policy and Development Cooperation and discussed bilateral relations and further cooperation possibilities between the two countries with Mr.Markus Ederer, State Secretary at the Federal Foreign Ministry.
Furthermore, a meeting with representatives of the German political foundations that are active in Mongolia was organized during the official visit. Delegates then travelled to the Free State of Thuringia and visited a former site of underground mining where a successful environmental rehabilitation process is currently carried out. Mr.Terbishdagva, Chairman of the Parliamantary Group, gave a presentation to business people attending the event in Thuringia.
