The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs G. Amartuvshin received New Zealand’s Ambassador-designate to Mongolia Mr James Waite on 10 August 2023, and received copies of the Letter of Credence.
During the meeting, the Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized that Mongolia attaches importance on its relations and cooperation with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region in its foreign policy. Furthermore, the Deputy Minister pointed out that New Zealand is regarded as an important partner in the Pacific region, and Mongolia is committed to enhancing mutually beneficial trade, economic and educational cooperation.
Also, both parties highlighted the ample resources and opportunities for fostering mutually beneficial cooperation between our two countries, with a focus on enhancing trade and investment, particularly in sectors such as agriculture, tourism, education, and renewable energy. Sides also discussed the possible collaboration of travel companies and tour operators, as well as coordinating joint forums and events, particularly in the field of eco-tourism.
