Following a request by the Government of Mongolia, United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is organizing the “Negotiating a free trade agreement” capacity building workshop on October 10-13, 2022.
State Secretary N.Ankhbayar, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mongolia and Director Rupa Chanda, Trade, Investment and Innovation Division, UN ESCAP have given the opening statements for the workshop.
Over 80 representatives of more than 20 organizations, including ministries, agencies, universities, and the national chamber of commerce and industry, are participating in the workshop.
The event is being implemented as a part of the agenda of “Empowerment of the negotiating capacity of Mongolian officials to establish a free trade agreement” in accordance with the Government resolution No.48 of 2018. Through organizing a series of trainings, Mongolia is aiming to set up a national negotiation team.
