The “Roundtable meeting with development partners” and the “Launch of eTrade report” aimed to introduce eTrade readiness assessment report of Mongolia were jointly held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, the Ministry of Digital Development and Communications of Mongolia, and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). The Roundtable meeting took place on June 7, 2023, while the launch of the eTrade Report was held on June 8, 2023.
Mr. Uchral Nyam-Osor, Minister of Digital Development and Communications, delivered the opening remarks of the “Roundtable meeting with development partners”, and Mr. Ankhbayar Nyamdorj, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, addressed the “Launch of eTrade report”.
Ms. Shamika Sirimanne, Director of the Division on Technology and Logistics of UNCTAD, representatives from UN specialized agencies, international organizations, and diplomatic missions in Mongolia as well as members of the National task force on eCommerce attended the events.
The MFA State Secretary N.Ankhbayar welcomed UNCTAD DTL Director Ms.Shamika Sirimanne and exchanged views on identifying priorities of recommendations to be implemented in accordance with proposed Action Matrix of this assessment.
The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development has evaluated the eTrade readiness of more than 32 countries since 2017, and Mongolia became the 33rd country to undergo the assessment.
