Mr. V. Enkhbold, Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations had a farewell meeting with Mr. Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, on June 28, 2024 at the UN Headquarters.
Permanent Representative V. Enkhbold expressed his gratitude to the Secretary-General and his esteemed office for their support and close cooperation during the four and a half years representing Mongolia at the United Nations.
He also highlighted that the visit of Mr. Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, to Mongolia in August 2022 was an important milestone in Mongolia-ГИ relations. Mr. V. Enkhbold emphasized that the Secretary-General’s description of Mongolia as “a symbol of peace in a troubled world” deeply resonated with the Mongolian people.
He also briefed the Secretary-General on the preparations for the World Women’s Conference to be held in Ulaanbaatar in August of this year, and on Mongolia’s hosting of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (COP17), in 2026.
Mr. Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, stressed that Mongolia has made great efforts in multilateral cooperation and has actively and extensively contributed.
