The South Summit, the main decision-making mechanism of the Group of 77 and China is taking place on 21-23 January 2024 in Kampala, Uganda.
Under the theme “Leaving no one behind”, the Third South Summit discusses a wide range of issues including partnership, cooperation, trade, investment, sustainable development, climate change, poverty reduction, countries with special needs, digital economy, and migration.
The high-level representatives from more than 130 countries and international organizations, including the Presidents of Uganda, Botswana, Equatorial Guinea, and Sri Lanka, the Vice Presidents of Cuba, Benin, and the Maldives, the Prime Ministers and Foreign Ministers of Algeria, Guyana, Rwanda, Eswatini, South Africa, the Philippines, Singapore, and Brazil and the Secretary-General of the United Nations are participating in the Summit to express their views on the activities implemented under South-South cooperation and strengthening the partnership of developing countries.
Deputy Foreign Minister Amartuvshin Gombosuren is participating in the Third South Summit. He will deliver the statement at the meeting on January 22.
As a result of the Third South Summit, the representatives will adopt the outcome document as a roadmap for international partnerships and cooperation, strengthening unity, and supporting the developing countries.
Since 1989, Mongolia has endeavoured to actively participate in the activities of the Group of 77 and China, which aims to promoting the common interests of developing countries.
