MONGOLIAN YOUNG JOURNALISTS ENROLLED IN TRAINING IN THAILAND

Within the framework of cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, a group of Mongolian young journalists attended a training course on “International Journalism and Diplomacy”, hosted by Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand at Rangsit University in Bangkok on 17-27 January, 2017.

Apart from lecturers and professors of the Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs, College of Communication Arts of Rangsit University, veterans of Thai diplomatic service as well as speakers from the Office of the Prime Minister and Department of Information, MFA and the Royal Photographic Society delivered lectures on a wide range of topics for Mongolian journalists. The list of speakers included such well-known personalities as Deputy Government Spokesman Lieutenant General Weerachon Sukontapatipak, Mr. Sek Wannamettee, Director-General of the Department of Information, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassadors Surapong Janayama and Sompong Sanguanbun, just to name a few.

H.E. Mr. Tugsbilguun Tumurkhuleg, Ambassador of Mongolia to Thailand received journalists at the Embassy during the said period and gave them an interview on Mongolia-Thailand relations. In addition, Mongolian guests made study trips to Petchaburi and Prachuapkirikhan provinces, where they were acquainted with Thai history and concepts of Sufficiency Economy and Energy Sufficiency.

The training course has contributed to enhancing knowledge and skills of young journalists in media organization, media management and media ethics, as well as in acquiring analytical skills on international relations, political, economic and business-related issues.
