MONGOLIAN STUDENTS STUDYING IN HAVANA ARE BEING INTRODUCED TO CUBAN ARTS AND CULTURE

The Mongolian Embassy in Cuba has initiated a program to introduce Cuban arts and culture for Mongolian students studying in Cuba. Within this agenda, the students attended a ballet performance at the Great Theater of Havana on April 3rd, 2017.

This series of cultural program designed to introduce Mongolian students about the 500 years of Havana’s historical sites has been led by Ambassador’s spouse  P. Dorjpagam, Professor of Music and Dance College of Mongolia.

In the previous program, Professor Dorjpagam led a tour for students to UNESCO registered cultural heritage, Valle de Vinales, one of the many natural wonders of Cuba.

Carrying more than 180 years of history, registered in the UNESCO’s world cultural heritage, the Great Theater of Havana is one of the unique architectural monuments of old Havana city. Considering the immense contribution made by the famous Cuban ballerina Alicia Alonso in the Cuban arts and culture, in September, 2015 the State Council made a decision to name the Great Theater in her honor.

In September 11th, 2016, Mr. D. Altankhuyag, a famous Ballet dancer,  Mongolian State Honored Actor and Cultural envoy Of Mongolia was invited to perform at the International Ballet Festival in in honor of Alicia Alonso
