MONGOLIA-VIETNAM BUSINESS FORUM WAS HELD IN HANOI

The Mongolia-Vietnam Business Forum was held in Hanoi on November 2, 2023, as part of the state visit of the President of Mongolia, His Excellency Mr. Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam at the invitation of the President of Vietnam, His Excellency Mr. Vo Van Tiong.

President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh and Mr. Chung Luu Quang, Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, underscored the vital role of public and private sectors in fostering bilateral trade, economic, and business cooperation, and in strengthening their mutually beneficial partnership in the future, during their opening remarks at the Mongolia-Vietnam Business Forum.

President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh emphasized the opportunities for enhancing trade and economic collaboration between Mongolia and Vietnam across diverse sectors including food, agriculture, mining, road transport, energy, environment, and tourism. He further expressed his confidence that the historically amicable relations between Mongolia and Vietnam would continue to evolve with new dimensions, significantly bolstering the growth and development of their economic cooperation.

Deputy Prime Minister Chung Luu Quang highlighted that the state visit of the Mongolian President and the extensive participation in the Business Forum mark a transition from bilateral political relations to economic cooperation, signaling a new chapter in the relationship between the two countries.

More than 200 representatives of the public and private sectors attended the Business Forum that was jointly organized by the Embassy of Mongolia in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Mongolian side introduced opportunities for investment and joint projects within the framework of Mongolia’s New Economic Recovery policy as well as discussed banking, finance, transportation, and logistics cooperation to increase bilateral trade.

Vietnamese enterprises operating in the field of food supply, agriculture, mining, renewable energy, and information technology made presentations and exchanged views on mutually beneficial cooperation.

Representatives from various companies in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, including airline companies such as Viet-Jet Group, Sovico Group, TH Group, BIRG Group, and the tourism company Vien-Pearl, presented their companies and jointly implemented projects with Mongolia, along with prospects for future cooperation.

At the end of the forum, some trade and investment agreements were signed between Mongolian and Vietnamese enterprises, and the Nachang-Ulaanbaatar-Nachang route of Viet-Jet Airlines of Vietnam was officially launched. This flight is scheduled to commence regular operations from December 15, 2023.
