2023 Prague Forum on Economic and Environmental Dimensions of the OSCE is being held in Prague, Czech Republic from 14 to 15 September, 2023.
In the margins of the said forum, Mongolia jointly with the Office of the Co-ordinator for OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities (OCEEA) organized a side event on “Strengthening good governance and climate resilience in Mongolia”.
Ms. Helga Schmid, Secretary General of the OSCE, emphasized the continued expansion of cooperation between Mongolia and the OSCE and expressed Organization’s readiness to support initiates of Mongolia in the economic and environmental dimension.
Ms. Solongoo Bayarsaikhan, Deputy Minister for Justice and Home Affairs, participated in the event and presented the implementation of the “5 Pillar” anti-corruption operational plan, in connection with the Government’s announcement of 2023 as the “Year of Combating Corruption”.
Ms. Bolorchimeg Jargalsaikhan, Chief Foreign Officer and Senior Commissioner of the Independent Authority against Corruption, shared good practices and experiences of Mongolia in combating corruption and asset recovery efforts.
Mr.Oyunsanaa Byambasuren, Director General of the National Forest Agency, participated virtually and presented the cooperation experience with the OSCE, since 2015 in establishing the Regional Central Asia Fire Management Resource Center in Ulaanbaatar. In strengthening the cooperation with the Office of the Co-ordinator for OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities, regional conference for Central Asian practitioners is planned to be organized in Ulaanbaatar in 2024 on the prevention of climate-induced and human-caused wildfire risks.
Furthermore, cooperation opportunities for implementing the “One billion trees” national movement, initiated by the President of Mongolia, was presented and the OSCE as well as partner countries expressed their support and cooperation for its successful implementation.
