“MONGOLIA-GERMANY RELATIONS: CURRENT SITUATION AND PERSPECTIVES” ACADEMIC CONFERENCE WAS HELD

Within the framework of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Germany, the academic conference “Mongolia-Germany relations: Current situation and perspectives” was held on May 16 in the Consensus Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, N. Ankhbayar, participated in the opening of the conference. He emphasized that the conference, organized jointly with the Institute of International Studies of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences and the Embassy of Germany in Mongolia, plays an important role in the advancement of bilateral cooperation.

He highlighted that Mongolian-German relations and cooperation have deepened in all sectors, and today, the relations between the two countries have reached the level of a “Strategic Partnership.”

Furthermore, both sides have made significant efforts to expand the relations between the two countries and elevate the level of partnership. The outcomes of the official visit of Prime Minister of Mongolia, L. Oyun-Erdene to Germany in 2022, visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany A. Baerbock to Mongolia in 2023 and Federal President F.W. Steinmeier’s state visit to Mongolia in February of this year were highlighted.

During the conference, various issues outlined in the Strategic Partnership document, including political relations, trade, economy, investment, development cooperation, education, and science, were discussed.

For instance, discussions were held on the trends of Mongolian-German political, economic, and development cooperation, as well as the new concept of Mongolian-German development cooperation.
