At its regular meeting held on May 4th, 2022, the Cabinet took decision to exempt South Korean tourists from visa requirements. The decision shall be effective from June 1st, 2022 to December 31st, 2024 and during this period tourists from South Korea are allowed to visit Mongolia, free of visa, for up to 90 days.
Before the Covid-19 pandemic, around 100,000 South Korean tourists visited Mongolia annually and the Cabinet decision took today is of great importance to the increase of South Korean tourists visiting Mongolia and further development of the tourism sector.
As of today, Mongolia has taken measures concerning the Visa Exemption Arrangements with 62 countries, 25 arrangements for ordinary passport holders and 37 arrangements for diplomatic and official passport holders.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia is continuing talks with the Korean side to facilitate the travel of Mongolian citizens to the Republic of Korea.
