H.E. Mrs. B. Battsetseg, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, received H.E. Mr. Raúl Delgado Concepción, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Mongolia, on April 1, 2021, and exchanged views on the Mongolia-Cuban relations and cooperation.
Informing about the measures being taken by the Government of Mongolia to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, Minister B. Battsetseg emphasized the successful testing of several vaccines in Cuba. The Minister also inquired on the progress of the development of the “Mambisa” vaccine for children and expressed interest in purchasing it.
The Minister highlighted the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries last year while emphasizing her commitment to further strengthen the traditionally friendly relations and expand bilateral cooperation.
Ambassador Raúl Delgado Concepción congratulated Minister B. Battsetseg and conveyed the greetings of H.E. Mr. Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba. He underlined the importance of further deepening of cooperation opportunities between the two countries in the fields of health, biotechnology, tourism, and informed that the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministries on cooperation in the field of health is ready to be signed. Ambassador Concepción also provided information on vaccines being developed by the Cuban Government against COVID-19.
The two sides exchanged views on the arrangement of the Fourth Consultative Meeting between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and Cuba to be conducted online in the near future.
