MONGOLIA AND THE UK TO EXPAND ITS TRADE AND ECONOMIC COOPERATION IN LINE WITH THE UK’S ENHANCED FRAMEWORK TRADE PREFERENCE SCHEME

On March 5th, 2021, Minister of Foreign Affairs Batmunkh Battsetseg received Mr. Philip Malone, British Ambassador to Mongolia. At the outset of the meeting, Foreign Minister Battsetseg touched upon the Government’s main objectives, policies and plan of action.

The two sides discussed ways of intensifying trade and economic cooperation between the two countries in line with Mongolia inclusion in the UK’s Enhanced Framework Trade Preference Scheme which came into effect this year. The two sides also exchanged views on broadening its cooperation in the education sector, maintaining the frequency of Mongolian-British talks and other issues of mutual interest within the multilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, Ambassador Malone presented the congratulatory letter from The Right Honourable Dominic Raab MP, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom.
