The Mongolian Agency for Standardization and Metrology (MASM) and the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) signed an Agreement on Cooperation on November 20, 2023, in Ottawa, during the official visit of Minister for Foreign Affairs B.Battsetseg to Canada.

The agreement was signed from the Mongolian side by H.E. Sarantogos Erdenetsogt, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Canada, and from the Canadian side by Ms. Chantal Guay, Chief Executive Officer of the Standards Council of Canada.

Under the agreement the two sides will promote cooperation by adopting Canadian advanced standards in Mongolia and introducing standards for cold-resistant buildings, roads and bridges as well as low heat-loss technologies based on the climate similarities between the two countries. MASM and SCC will also look into possibilities to establish relations with international standards development organizations accredited by the SCC, as well as exchange experiences and knowledge in standards development activities, strengthening human resources in the field of standardization.
