The Consultative Meeting between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and Argentina was held on January 14, 2019 in Buenos Aires.
The delegations were headed by Mr. D.Davaasuren, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, and Mr. Daniel Raimondi, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship of the Argentine Republic, respectively.
Both sides highlighted that the importance of expanding and developing friendly ties and cooperation between Mongolia and Argentina, particularly, in the fields of agriculture, education, culture and sports. Implementation of two projects on constant nutrition provision of livestock in winter time and monitoring of foot-and-mouth disease were agreed. Argentina has rich experience in milk production technology, livestock sanitation and immunization, and export of beef on international standards. Argentine has succeeded to fully eliminate animal infectious diseases and successfully implemented around 200 projects in this field in different countries.
Moreover, the Argentinian side expressed its readiness to train Spanish language specialists and educate Mongolian students in agricultural field.
The sides stressed out that there are opportunities for collaboration in the field of sports by exchanging football and judo coaches, and agreed to establish direct network between relevant organizations.
The sides will strive for boosting tourism and increasing cultural exchange. Abolition of visa requirements for the Mongolian and Argentinian citizens since 2017 provided stimulus for tourism development. The Mongolian side requested to include the Argentinian journalists to visit Mongolia in July, 2019 as part of media delegation from the Latin American countries.
The parties also mutually affirmed their intent for broadening cooperation on international and regional arena, including the UN and FEALAC.
During the Consultative Meeting, State Secretary D.Davaasuren and Secretary Daniel Raimondi signed the “Agreement on Technical co-operation between the Government of Mongolia and the Government of the Argentine Republic”.
