On September 27, 2024, Her Excellency Ms. Battsetseg Batmunkh, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, held a meeting with His Excellency Mr. Cho Tae-Yul, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, on the sidelines of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
During the meeting, Ms. Battsetseg Batmunkh highlighted the expanding friendly relations and cooperation between Mongolia and the Republic of Korea, emphasizing the depth of their “Strategic Partnership.” She reaffirmed Mongolia’s strong commitment to working closely with the Republic of Korea, a key “third neighbor,” to further strengthen trade and economic ties, as well as improve travel conditions for citizens of both nations.
In response, Foreign Minister Cho Tae-Yul emphasized his commitment to advancing the Economic Partnership Agreement between Mongolia and the Republic of Korea, which is currently under negotiation. He also underscored the importance of ongoing collaboration on joint projects and programs. Both sides reaffirmed their dedication to deepening cooperation, not only bilaterally but also in international and regional arenas, and exchanged views on a range of issues of mutual interest.
