Minister for Foreign Affairs B.Battsetseg met with the Honourable Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Development Cooperation of Canada on November 20, 2023 during her official visit to Canada.

Minister B.Battsetseg commended the contribution of Canada’s International Development Assistance to Mongolia’s political and economic reforms and the implementation of sustainable development goals. In this context, Foreign Minister expressed her satisfaction with the successful implementation of projects on empowering women and girls, promoting gender equality, strengthening a professional civil service, and enhancing responsible governance in mining sector.

Minister A.Hussen while reaffirming Canada’s commitment to further expand cooperation with Mongolia, an important partner in the Indo-Pacific region, pointed out a continued support to Mongolia in achieving its development goals within the framework of Comprehensive Partnership and through the International Development Assistance programs, especially in the agricultural sector through the implementation of a climate-smart agriculture project, given the climate similarities between Mongolia and Canada.

Foreign Minister B.Battseteg extended an invitation to the Honourable A.Hussen to visit Mongolia at a time of his convenience.
