On November 21, H.E. Battsetseg Batmunkh, Minister for Foreign Affairs, met with the Honourable Senator Michèle Audette, Chair of the Canada-Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship Group.
During the meeting Minister B.Battsetseg noted that the cooperation between the legislative bodies plays an important role in enhancing the bilateral relations between the two countries and expressed gratitude to the Honourable Senator Michèle Audette for re-establishing and chairing the Canada-Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship Group.
The two sides exchanged views on a broad range of issues, including women’s political leadership, inter-parliamentary relations, and cooperation in the field of education, especially with regard to improving English language teaching in rural areas of Mongolia.
Minister B.Battsetseg also visited the Senate Chamber and met with the Honourable Raymonde Gagné, the Speaker of the Senate of Canada.
The Canada-Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship Group was first established in 2003, and currently consists of 12 members of the Senate and 6 members of the House of Commons of Canada.
