On June 23 2021, H.E. Mrs. B.Battsetseg, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia attended the Asia Pacific High-level Conference on Belt and Road Cooperation organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC. Over 30 dignitaries, including the Presidents, Prime Ministers, Foreign Ministers from BRI countries and heads of International Organizations spoke during the conference.
During her remarks, Minister B.Battsetseg introduced the Government’s policies and activities to prevent the spread of the Covid 19 pandemic and to minimize its impact on the economy, including the vaccination campaign and the “Comprehensive response plan of 10 trillion MNT for health protection and economic recovery”. The Minister also took the opportunity to thank partner countries and international organizations, especially China, for supporting Mongolia’s anti-pandemic efforts by providing vaccines, financial sources to purchase vaccines and effectively coordinating the purchase of the vaccines in a relatively short period.
Minister B.Battsetseg noted that Mongolia has been actively working to implement the trilateral Mongolia-Russia-Chin Economic Corridor Program and align the “Steppe Road” d program with the “Belt and Road” initiative. The Minister also reiterated Mongolia’s readiness to further strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation with the “Belt and Road” initiative countries.
