International tourism trade fair ‚ITB‘ is successfully organized for the 51st time in Berlin. A delegation including Tsengel Tsegmid, State Secretary at the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, Gansukh D., Advisor to the Minister for Environment and Tourism, Batsukh D., Head of the Tourism Department of the Ulaanbaatar Capital City and Bolor Tsolmon, Ambassador of Mongolia to Germany, is taking part in this year’s exhibition. A more than 10,000 companies and private enterprises from 186 countries are participating at the trade fair and 8 companies along with Ulaanbaatar Tourism Department are represented at the Mongolian stand at the ITB.
During the opening ceremony, high-level guests of the trade fair visited the national stand as part of the round tour through the exhibition. Mongolian delegation and company representatives welcomed Mrs. Iris Gleicke, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Federal Minister for Economy and Energy, Mr.Michael Mueller, Mayor of Berlin, Mr. Taleb Rifai, General Secretary of the UNWTO, Mr.Christian Goeke, Chairman of the ‘Messe Berlin’, Mr.Michael Frenzel, President of the Federal Association of the German Tourism Industry and Mr.Norberg Fiebig, President of the German Travel Association.
Mongolian Tourism Association organized this year’s participation at the ITB and leading tourism companies of Mongolia were present at the trade fair including “MIAT”, “Ger to ger”, “Great Chinghis Expedition”, “Tsolmon Travel”, “Juulchin”, “New Juulchin”, “Nature Tour”, “Ar Mongol Travel” and “Star Mongolia”.
In parallel to the trade fair, “ITB Congress” is organized annually and sector specialists gather together to discuss new ideas, challenges and future prospects the tourism sector is facing. In addition, UNWTO organized its 7th Silk Road Ministers’ Meeting with the theme on “Sustainable Tourism and Local Silk Road Communities”. State Secretary Tsengel Tsegmid, member of the parliament, Oyun-Erdene L. and Advisor to the Minister Gansukh D. represented the Mongolian side at the ministerial meeting. A
