The Integrated Coordination Group to support fight against the pandemic and prevention, which was initiated jointly by the Government of Mongolia and the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office, held its first meeting virtually on April 27, 2021. During the meeting Mr. Amarsaikhan.S, Deputy Prime Minister and the Head of State Emergency Commission of Mongolia introduced the activities carried out so far to fight against the pandemic and stressed the role of the Coordination Group that consists of representatives from government, the private sector and international organizations.
The goals of the Coordination Group are to take humanitarian response based on the socio-economic impacts and their risk assessment of the COVID-19 pandemic, expand multilateral partnerships, coordinate actions of international organizations and the donor governments, and support the management of necessary funding and resources.
Furthermore, www.covidmongolia.mn (“Situation of Mongolia during COVID-19”) website has been officially launched at the event. This website is dedicated to deliver all pandemic related information, including the facts and statistics as well as Government policies and actions in a timely manner both in Mongolian and English languages.
