Inauguration ceremony for the first regular direct flight between Ulaanbaatar-Prague-Ulaanbaatar was held on July 10, 2024 at the Vaclav Havel International Airport. H.E. Mr. Gansukh Damdin, Ambassador of Mongolia to the Czech Republic, Mrs. Oyundelger Dagva, CEO of the Eznis Airways LLC, H.E. Mr. Jan Vytopil, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Mongolia and Mr. Jiri Pos, CEO of the Vaclav Havel International Airport were among with other officials at the ceremony.
Within the framework of the Air services Agreement between the Governments of Mongolia and the Czech Republic, Mongolian “Eznis Airways” LLC will operate regular direct flights between Ulaanbaatar and Prague on Wednesdays and Saturdays. On July 10th inaugural flight from Ulaanbaatar to Prague with 81 passengers arrived and a return flight took off from Prague with 153 passengers including from Mongolia, Czechia and transit passengers from Austria, Great Britain, and France.
In his remarks, Ambassador D.Gansukh noted that the direct flight opens a new page in the bilateral cooperation between Mongolia and the Czech Republic, which will be celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year. Also, he emphasized that this flight is the third gateway for Mongolia’s civil aviation companies to Europe and connects Mongolia with its “third neighbour” the EU and its member states. At present, more than 13 thousand fellow Mongolians live in Czechia and citizens of 32 European countries travel visa-free to Mongolia.
