On 25 September 2024, H.E. Mrs. Battsetseg Batmunkh, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mr. Igli Hasani, Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, on the sidelines of the General Debate of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
During the meeting, Minister for Foreign Affairs Ms. B.Battsetseg highlighted the strengthening of the long-standing friendly relations and cooperation between Mongolia and Albania, attributing the progress to the dedicated efforts of both nations. She also extended her congratulations on the milestone 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs exchanged views on opportunities to further expand bilateral relations in areas of shared interest, with a particular focus on enhancing cooperation in tourism and culture.
Furthermore, both sides emphasized the active cooperation between their two countries within the framework of the United Nations and other international organizations, reaffirming their commitment to continuing this strong tradition of collaboration.
Diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Republic of Albania were established on May 24, 1949. Notably, Albania was the third country to officially recognize Mongolia’s independence and to formalize diplomatic ties.
