Foreign Minister Ts.Munkh-Orgil met with Mr. Donald Bobiash, Assistant Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Canada, on 27th of April 2017 and has exchanged views on bilateral relations and cooperation.
The both sides have expressed their contentment in the outcomes of the 7th Roundtable Meeting held last March in Ottawa and re-affirmed to work towards implementing the issues of the bilateral cooperation discussed at the RTM. Assistant Deputy Minister serves as the co-chair of the Mongolia-Canada Roundtable.
Minister Ts.Munkh-Orgil noted the active parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, and emphasized that other than mining, the bilateral economic cooperation has huge potential in agriculture and tourism development. The Minister also pointed out the importance of closely cooperating to bring Canadian investment, know-how, technology to Mongolia. Furthermore, the minister has requested canadian support and attention in training the Mongolian students and officers in Canada.
The Ministers have exchanged views on current situation of North East Asian region, and Canada was invited to participate in 4th meeting for upcoming UB Dialogue initiative to be held in June.
