Nyamtseren Enkhtaivan, Minister for Foreign Affairs, received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Mongolia Mr. Philippe Merlin on July 23rd, 2020.
The Minister sought the support and cooperation from the Ambassador to protect the interests of Mongolians residing in France during the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pandemic and expressed his confidence that France will support Mongolia in reducing the negative impact of the pandemic on its economy. He further expressed his eagerness to elevate the ties between Mongolia and France to a new level.
Minister Enkhtaivan also suggested cooperating to introduce French know-how and advanced technologies on small and medium-sized enterprises to produce export products that meet international standards.
Ambassador Merlin noted Mongolia’s achievements on its unwavering commitment to democracy, human rights, freedom and free-market economy over the past 30 years. He also mentioned that the potential for further development of bilateral relations and cooperation are strong, and expressed his support for the goals set by the Foreign Minister.
