FOREIGN MINISTER N.ENKHTAIVAN HAD A PHONE TALK WITH CHINESE FOREIGN MINISTER WANG YI

On July 10th, 2020 State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic Of China Wang Yi made a phone call with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia N.Enkhtaivan on the occasion of the National Festival of Mongolia – Naadam, and on appointment as Minister for Foreign Affairs.

Minister Enkhtaivan expressed his gratitude for the congratulations and underlined his interest for further intensive cooperation for stable development and enrichment with the new content of Mongolia-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. He noted that during the current global economic situation caused by the pandemic, it is essential to intensify the economic cooperation, in particularly by boosting coal trade and requested the support of the Chinese side on the issue.

State Councilor and Minister Wang Yi expressed his readiness to work closely with his Mongolian counterpart to deepen the bileteral cooperation in all fields, and continue to work together to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, share clinical information and provide necessary assistance. He also reaffirmed the intention to actively cooperate in reviving trade and economic cooperation and advancing major cooperation projects between two countries, such as the “Ulaanbaatar Central Waste Water Treatment Plant” and the “ger” district development.

The Foreign Ministers agreed that the “Green Passage” agreed recently between the two countries, would give an important impetus for the resumption and intensification of bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

The Ministers also exchanged views on international and regional cooperation.
