Foreign Minister D. Tsogtbaatar met the US Ambassador Jennifer Galt on October 23, 2017, and exchanged views on the matters of bilateral relations.
Minister Tsogtbaatar highlighted that Mongolia and the U.S. share and cherish many common values such as the promotion of democracy and respect for human rights, and noted the importance of using the well- established high-level political relations between Mongolia and the U.S., as a leverage for furthering the bilateral economic cooperation.
Ambassador Galt congratulated Mr. Tsogtbaatar on the appointment as the Foreign minister; and noted that, within the framework of commemorating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the U.S., the two sides have been closely working towards intensifying cooperation in many important areas, and have jointly organized number of cultural and humanitarian activities.
Moreover, Ambassador stressed out that American side has been giving priority to the economic cooperation in promoting the bilateral agenda; and highlighted that, in this regard, the Transparency Agreement entered into force, and the preparations are underway for the signing of the Second Compact agreement with the Millennium Challenge Corporation.
Both sides have agreed to continue, and enrich the recently launched “Travel Responsibly” campaign with newer content and format.
