FOREIGN MINISTER D. TSOGTBAATAR MET WITH THE DIRECTOR OF THE PEACE CORPS GENE NIXON

Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia D.Tsogtbaatar met with Mr. Gene Nixon, Director of Peace Corps in Mongolia on August 9, 2018, in connection with his completion of the official duties in Mongolia.

Minister for Foreign Affairs D.Tsogtbaatar noted that the US Peace Corps has been successfully implementing volunteer projects in Mongolia over the last 30 years and contributed to the well-being and social development of Mongolia, in particular in health and education sectors.

During the meeting, the Minister introduced his requests of increasing the number of volunteers in the Mongolian branch of Peace Corps, teaching English for primary and secondary school students, and exchanging sports coaches in order to expand the cooperation between the two countries.

Mr. Gene Nixon expressed his satisfaction with his years of service in Mongolia, and thanked Mongolia for continuously supporting and cooperating with volunteerism.

Since the 1990s, more than 1,300 volunteers have worked in Mongolia. During that time, their works have reached the soums and bags of 21 provinces in our country.
