On 10 July 2024, Foreign Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh met Dr. QU Dongyu, Director-General of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, who is on official visit to Mongolia at her invitation.

At the meeting, the parties exchanged opinions on the current regulation of the food and agriculture sector. They discussed further possible improvement in cooperation, including increasing the value of pastoralism, creating a sustainable agriculture management system adapted to climate change, supporting rural development, and taking prompt and effective responses to natural disasters.

During his visit, Director-General QU Dongyu will acquaint with the projects and programs implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Mongolia. He will also visit the “Naadam Festival” which is listed as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity by the UNESCO.
