H.E.Mrs. Battsetseg Batmunkh, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, met with Ms. Rabab Fatima, Under-Secretary-General and High-Representative for Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (UN-OHRLLS), on 25 September 2024, in New York during the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
During the meeting, Foreign Minister B. Battsetseg expressed her satisfaction with the activities of the Office of the High Representative in promoting and protecting the interests of the countries with special needs, particularly LLDCs.
High Representative Ms. Rbaba Fatima expressed her appreciation for the steadfast efforts and support of the Government of Mongolia rendered to the UN-OHRLLS and expressed her willingness to expand and strengthen further cooperation.
The two sides also discussed the preparatory works for the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3) to take place on 10-13 December 2024 in Botswana led by the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Preparatory Committee (Mongolia and Austria) together with the UN-OHRLLS.
