DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTER MR. G. AMARTUVSHIN PARTICIPATED IN THE 19TH NON-ALIGNED MOVEMENT SUMMIT

The 19th Non-Aligned Movement Summit (NAM) was held in Kampala, Republic of Uganda on 19-20 January 2024.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, G. Amartuvshin, represented the Government of Mongolia in the summit, which was attended by heads of state and government from 28 countries and high-level representatives from 52 countries.

The NAM is a mechanism of multilateral cooperation between developing countries aimed at jointly defending their positions and interests on pressing international issues. The NAM was founded in 1961 with 25 members, and now has 120 countries as members. The countries of the NAM represent nearly two-thirds of the United Nations’ members and make up 55% of the world population.
