H.E Mrs. B.Battsetseg, Deputy Foreign Minister attended the 8th Foreign Ministers’ meeting of the Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC), held on August 31st, 2017 in Busan, ROK.
Speaking at the plenary session of the Ministerial, Deputy Minister noted the importance of expanding cooperation in all possible areas between East Asia and Latin America, and highlighted Mongolia’s potential cooperation in the field of agriculture, mining, and tourism with them. Also, Deputy Minister expressed Mongolia’s endorsement for FEALAC’s Action Plan and Fund, as well as, the Busan Declaration.
On the sidelines of the Ministerial, Deputy Minister held bilateral meetings with H.E Mrs. Kang Kyung-wha, Minister of Foreign Affairs of ROK, H.E Mr. Jorge Marcelo Faurie, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Argentina, H.E Mr. Oscar Cabello Sarubbi, Deputy Foreign Minister of Paraguay, and H.E Mr. Carlos Icaza Gonzales, Deputy Foreign Minister of Mexico, and exchanged views on bilateral ties and cooperation.
Moreover, Deputy Minister and the Argentine Foreign Minister signed the Agreement between Mongolia and the Argentine Republic on the exemption of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, official and ordinary passports.
Associating 36 countries, with 16 countries from East Asia and 20 from Latin America, FEALAC is a multilateral dialogue mechanism to strengthen cooperation and mutual understanding between East Asia and Latin America. Close to 20 countries and International organizations attended the 8th FEALAC Foreign Ministers’ meeting at the level of Foreign Ministers and Deputy Foreign Ministers. As the outcome of the Ministers’ Meeting, the FEALAC Action plan was endorsed and the Fund was established, as well as, the Busan Declaration was adopted.
