Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Chile, H.E. Mrs. Sosormaa Chuluunbaatar has presented her letter of credence to the President of the Republic of Chile, Madame Michelle Bachelet on 15 June, 2016. After the ceremony of presentation of credentials Madame President Bachelet has invited Ambassador Mrs. Sosormaa Ch. for a private audience. During the audience, the Ambassador, while extending greetings from the President of Mongolia, H.E. Mr. Elbegdorj Tsakhia, presented the letter that Mr. President addressed to his counterpart on the occasion of the 45^th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries that marks this year. Therefore, Ambassador Mrs. Sosormaa Ch. expressed her willingness to make every effort to develop relations between Mongolia and Chile in all potential areas of cooperation. H.E. President Madame Bachelet assured to render every assistance in strengthening the friendly relations that exist between our two countries and wished every success to the Ambassador.

The parties agreed upon cooperating in the mining, education, public service, social security, as well as on visa waiver for nationals of the two countries.

Mongolia and the Republic of Chile established diplomatic relations on 1 June, 1971.
